It is not every day a film cracks your brain open, spoons out the smooth contents within, and puts it back together full of folds and new synapses. Everything Everywhere All At Once, a film written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (or, “The Daniels”) charts the multiverse hopping story of Evelyn Quan Wang, her husband Waymond, and her daughter Joy.

This description honestly, sucks. Because if you’ve seen the film you know that so much happens that is frankly indescribable — a pig on a leash, a giant bagel, a universe where everyone has hot dogs for fingers…

The film is so mixed feelings it hurts. It’s about love, feelings, finding a sense of purpose — but it’s also about intergenerational family life, the challenges of growing up queer in an immigrant household, and so much more. In honor of the film’s 11 Oscar nominations and Michelle Yeoh’s historic nomination as the first Asian woman nominated in the Best Actress category, we combined universes with New York-based Joya Studio to give away candles from their iconic collection with A24.
