i love seeing i may destroy you on here! also i think animation usually does a good job at portraying friendships, like now i’m watching the animated harley quinn series and i looooove harley and ivy’s friendship (they’re eventually lovers but i digress)
Hearing SO many good things about the animated Harley Quinn series!! Might need to start that next now that the last of us is over (😭). On thé note of animated portrayals of friendship though, I watch a lot of anime and I love that a trope in shonen is this idea of being friendly “rivals” with your friends as a way to have someone holding uou accountable for always doing your best and trying to surpass what you’ve done before. I’m definitely not explaining this in a clear way AT ALL but I’ve always found that idea (flipping the script on what rivalry could mean) so heartwarming and refreshing. - Mi-Anne
